Sponsored Products
Amazon's core ad format: single-product ads on search results and product detail pages, paid per click.
Definition
Sponsored Products account for the majority of Amazon ad spend. They are available to sellers and vendors, need no Brand Registry and target either keywords (broad, phrase, exact) or products and categories. Auto campaigns let Amazon choose targets based on the listing.
Placements matter: top of search converts best and costs most; product pages are cheaper and often convert nearly as well. Placement multipliers let you bid differently per placement.
A sound structure separates discovery (auto, broad) from profit (exact), brand terms from generic terms, and products by margin so budgets can follow profitability.
How we use it
Sponsored Products are the backbone of every account we run; the structure above is where most ACoS gains come from in the first 90 days.
